Heart Attack Warning Signs in Women That Often Get Missed
Heart attacks present differently in women. Knowing these signs could save a life — yours or someone you love.
By Dr. Arvind Nair
Women are more likely to dismiss heart attack symptoms as indigestion or anxiety. Unlike the classic chest-clutching pain seen in men, women often experience:
- Unusual fatigue lasting days
- Shortness of breath without exertion
- Pain in the jaw, back or upper abdomen
- Nausea or cold sweats
If any of these appear suddenly and persistently, don't wait. Call an ambulance and head to the nearest emergency room.
